1. disagreements over assets or debts or the division of property is simple.
2. disagreements involving the children and custody support or visitation.
3. disagreements over a fair alimony or alimony does not apply. 

You may only need the attorney to draft divorce documents when the divorce is simple and the parties have a fair agreement.  This can avoid long arguing which gains very little and can be very expensive.  If you know that you can work together to file an uncontested divorce you may want to download our Kentucky Divorce information intake form to get your file and case started. 

However, if an attorney only prepares the uncontested divorce documents you get no legal advise and you file the documents yourself.  You must be clear about terms when you do a divorce online or when you file an uncontested divorce.  When an attorney represents you he will advise about issues that you may have overlooked.  Online divorce filings can cost you more in the long run than it saves in the short haul.  

You may also find yourself in arguments later and be unable to finish filing as an uncontested divorce.  When the divorce turns contested it can quickly go from agreement to being hiring attorneys at 200 per hour.  Be certain that when you contract to do a divorce as an uncontested matter that you are in agreement and that you do not need the advise of an attorney.
